We're looking for very seasoned software engineers (no 3rd parties) to join our team and work on the world's first FinTech Real Estate investment crowdfunding & wealth management AI driven platform. If you're interested in real-estate crowdfunding (RECF), machine learning automated investing, automated wealth management, are a master of rich SPA apps written in Angular.js and JavaScript, love clean UI components such as Kendo, and want to be intimately involved with building a company from the grounds up, then you're our (wo)man. This is a rare opportunity to be #1 engineer hire and work directly with the founders of a well VC funded YCombinator W16 batch company located downtown San Francisco right at Mongomery BART station.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Have been employed (besides internships) as Angular.js / Javascript Software Engineer for past 3 years and have shipped at least 2 iterations of a commercial product that has paying customers. No "side" or "internship" projects please.
• You master Bootstrap/CSS3/LESS, know by heart all building blocks
• You know how to test, package and deploy your Angular App and can demonstrate it
• You care about the product and user experience - and will express your thoughts
• Rapid prototyping is your middle name
• You love changing things around on daily basis and thrive in dynamic start-up environments, require minimal supervision, can pick up ideas from the whiteboard and own the delivery
• You have technically led other engineers in your team to delivering outstanding products

If you're interested in real-estate crowdfunding (RECF), machine learning automated investing, automated wealth management, are a master of rich SPA apps written in Angular.js and JavaScript, love clean UI components such as Kendo, and want to be intimately involved with building a company from the ground up, then you're our (wo)man. We currently work with JavaScript across the full stack (AngularJS, Node.js (ES6), and MongoDB), as well as PostgreSQL, and are extremely particular about testing (Mocha, Chai) and continuous integration/deployment. We currently use some of the basic Agile principles (daily scrums, weekly sprint planning, etc.), but we’re continuously improving our planning/product process and welcome change. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Have been employed (besides internships) as Node.js/KOA or Express Software Engineer for past 3 years and have shipped at least 2 iterations of a commercial product that has paying customers. No "side" or "internship" projects please.
• You have a deep understanding of Web Data Mining and Data Aggregation/Analytics
• You understand NoSQL and Map/Reduce and are hands on either Mongo or Cassandra
• You know your way around NPM and GitHub and have used the popular building blocks (i.e. Passport.js, Mongoose, etc)
• You know how to test, package and deploy your Node.js App and can demonstrate it
• Rapid prototyping is your middle name

• Have used Queuing/task scheduling frameworks (i.e. IronMQ, etc)
• Previous experience with Big data platform is a huge plus (think Hadoop, Apache Storm and the like)

We currently work with JavaScript across the full stack (AngularJS, Node.js (ES6), and MongoDB), as well as PostgreSQL, and are extremely particular about testing (Mocha, Chai) and continuous integration/deployment. We currently use some of the basic Agile principles (daily scrums, weekly sprint planning, etc.), but we’re continuously improving our planning/product process and welcome change. We’re looking for somebody who has faced architectural challenges in the past (distributed messaging and transactions, event sourcing) and who not only thinks about the “bigger picture” (enterprise integration, etc.) system design, but who is also meticulous about their own code and development best practices/patterns. This is a rare opportunity to lead engineering and work directly with the founders of a well-funded YCombinator W16 batch company and help build this company from a launched but still early stage.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Build, manage and grow our development team
• Mentor other developers, lead development team culture and process
• Design architecture for product scalability and performance
• Lead by example by contributing high-quality production code that powers critical pieces of our services and products
• Job will include both coding and management responsibilities (assume 50/50 to start)
• Bolster, refine and deliver a compelling technical strategy
• Work directly with CEO to transform vision into product goals to ensure smooth sprint cycles

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related discipline, or relevant experience
• Experience with building TDD code and testing best practices
• Experience with implementing 3rd party APIs, understanding when it makes sense (or doesn't) to leverage one
• Success in building and architecting large, scalable production applications, ideally in Fintech
• Proven experience managing a team of engineers
• Demonstrable ability to produce quality infrastructure and balance technical debt with new features
• Strong CS foundations and experience building highly scalable applications

NICE TO HAVES:

• Background in rules engine architecture
• Microservice architecture
• Experience with DevOps and system infrastructure
• Fintech experience
